Separating itself from the pack, this zoom features an exceedingly bright f/1.8 constant maximum aperture, which suits its use in difficult lighting conditions and offers impressive depth of field control throughout the zoom range. The optical design incorporates a series of SLD and aspherical elements, which help to achieve high clarity and sharpness by suppressing various aberrations, color fringing, and distortion. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied, too, which controls lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy. I bought this lens primarily to use with my Canon 80D for landscape photography, but so far have mostly used it for some pet portrait and Christmas photography. It’s mostly very sharp, with great bokeh. It can be tough to get focus on closeups though – obviously if you use it a f1.8 you have a pretty narrow field to work with, and there’s no IS to help if you’re hand-held. But I’ve had some good success with it in my limited uses so far, and am looking forward to seeing how it works out once I get to use it outdoors a bit more.

This is the best lense that i have ever buy. Tye photos are very sharp and clean and i like that the fish eye view on the photo is very minimum when you edit the photo. SO FAR THE BEST LENSE THAT I EVER BOUGHT. EVERY PHOTOGRAPHER DEFINITELY NEED THIS LENSE ON THEY BACKPACK.
